Four minors aged 15 and 16 have been arrested while planning an attack on the Israeli embassy in Belgium, based in Uccle. The information was reported by the French newspaper Le Parisien. Belgian and French police made the arrests in June and August.
Three of them, including two of Chechen origin, have been indicted in Paris, while the fourth is from Brussels and is being held in a juvenile prison.
According to Le Parisien newspaper, these radicalized young people communicated with each other via online video games and WhatsApp groups. They had obtained information on the Internet about how to make explosives. Their aim was to slit the throats of police officers stationed outside the embassy before driving a van full of explosives into it.
“Our aim is to terrorize the Jews”, “Blood must be spilled as much as possible”, “Our target is the Jews. Just killing police officers is not effective. They know they can die doing their job. But the people who work there think they are safe”, would be some of the many messages exchanged by the four miners.
