PARIS—“It’s the whole Republic that is attacked”,stated French President Emmanuel Macron on Twitter after the anti-Semitic aggression against a Jewish boy wearing a kippah in Sarcelles, near Paris.
The 8-year-old boy was assaulted by two teenagers described as being of African origin. The anti-Semitic nature of the aggression was “for the time being” retained by the judiciary authorities.
He was walking on a sidewalk when he passed in front of the 15-year-old people. Without any apparent reason, the teenagers kicked him several times in the lower abdomen and legs before fleeing.
During the aggression, they uttered no insult. The schoolboy was joined by his father who then filed a complaint. The boy explained that he didn’t know the two young people.
The anti-Semitic nature of the aggression makes no doubt for Rene Taieb, president of the Union of Jewish Communities of the Val-d’Oise, where Sarcelles is located.
Two weeks ago, also in Sarcelles, a 15-year-old Jewish girl was attacked outside the Merkaz Hatorah school by a man in his 30s, but the anti-Semitic character was not established with certainty.
