Concluding the The Peres Center for Peace and Innovation sports program for the 2022/23 season, over 100 Jewish, Arab, Israeli and Palestinian children aged 8-12, will gather on Monday, June 19th, between 16:00-19:00 at Abu Gosh, to celebrate coexistence and play soccer (football) together.
The event marks the end of the year-long project entitled “Sporting in the Service of Peace”, which brings together Israeli and Palestinian children to build understanding and mutual respect through soccer. The project, now in its 20th year, boasts over 25,000 graduates. Of note, this is the first full year since the COVID-19 pandemic which has included Palestinian participants.
The children attending the event will be coming from Be’er Sheva, Abu Gosh, Netiv HaLamed-Heh and Yatta.
