Four months after the demonstration against anti-Semitism she organized in Paris alongside Senate President Gérard Larcher, she said she is “unfortunately not reassured” about the evolution of anti-Semitism in France.”
The President of the French National Assembly (parliament) Yaël Braun-Pivet said that ‘’dozens and dozens of deputies” have received “a clearly anti-Semitic e-mail.’’
In an interview with France 3 tv channel on Sunday, she said she was not reassured about the evolution of antisemitism in France four months after the large march against antisemitism organized in Paris.
‘’The climate of antisemitism is still present, she deplored, ecalling the attack two weeks ago on a 60-year-old man wearing a kippah outside a Paris synagogue.
Two days ago, “I myself again lodged a complaint under Article 40 on behalf of dozens and dozens of MPs who received a clearly anti-Semitic e-mail”, she said.
“Anti-Semitic attacks continue”, she asserted, and “the climate remains of anxiety for the Jewish community”.
Yaël Braun-Pivet added that “the Minister of the Interior has stepped up protection.” “It’s a battle of yesterday, today and tomorrow”, she added.
