BRUSSELS—The annual EuroChanukah celebration will take place on Wednesday at the Berlaymont, the building where the European Commission is based in Brussels, in the presence of European Commission Vice-President Vera Jourova, responsible for Values and Transparency.
The event is organized by the European Jewish Community Centre (EJCC).
On the occasion of Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, an exhibition called ‘’Portraits’’ will feature the exceptional contribution of European Jewish women in diverse domains such as psychology, philosophy, astronomy, literature, neurobiology, art and music.
Representatives of the European Institutions along with members and friends of the Jewish community will join to light one symbolic candle in honor of the 71st anniversary of the Human Rights Declaration.
The lighting of the first candle of the Menorah at Rond Point Schuman, in front of the EU Council and EU Commission, will take place on Monday 22 December.
