PARIS—A 79-year-old Jewish woman was assaulted Tuesday in front of a Jewish community center in the 11th district of Paris.

According to a statement from the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF), the victim was wounded in the head with a metal object as she exited the center.

The woman was taken to hospital with a serious injury to the skull. Her days are not in danger, however.

The suspect fled and remains at large.

The UEJF said it expects the ongoing investigation to determine the conditions of this aggression.
