Netanyahu: Israel does not intend to occupy Gaza permanently nor to displace its civilian population
Israel does not intend to occupy Gaza permanently nor to displace its civilian population, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday.
“Israel is fighting Hamas terrorists, not the Palestinian population, and we are doing so in full compliance with international law,” he added in a video message. “The IDF is doing its utmost to minimize civilian casualties, while Hamas is doing its utmost to maximize them by using Palestinian civilians as human shields.”
The prime minister noted that the Israel Defense Forces drops leaflets and makes phone calls urging civilians to leave war zones, “providing safe passage corridors, while Hamas prevents Palestinians from leaving at gunpoint and often with gunfire.”
“Our goal is to rid Gaza of Hamas terrorists and free our hostages,” he said. “Once this is achieved, Gaza can be demilitarized and de-radicalized, thereby creating a possibility for a better future for Israel and Palestinians alike.”

The videos I’ve seen where soldiers say, ‘There are no innocents here’ are where they’re explaining neighborhoods that have been evacuated and they’re clearing the terror infrastructure. The people who remain there are all jihadist soldiers in plain clothing, some strapped with bombs. If the UN court takes this out of context, it is invalid evidence. Also, When Netanyahu said “Amakek”, he was referring to jihadists, not innocents. Saying that “…the entire nation out there that is responsible…” is factual. When jihadists have at least 80% support of Palestinians, then oppress, imprison, and kill vocal non-supporters, Israel is liberating Gaza from jihadist control, like the allies did in Nazi Germany. Hopefully the world will actually empower, or let Israel empower the people in Gaza who aren’t hell-bent on eradicating Israel. The UN’s performance both in Gaza and Lebanon has been horrendous, even supporting of terrorists operations in schools and hospitals. The good people of Gaza and Israel deserve better than the UN. Most Israelis have stopped taking the UN seriously a long time ago.
