According to i24news, activists have already been posting messages against the proposed judicial reform around the city of London: “Bibi, don’t count on a quiet weekend.” Unlike past visits, there are currently no events planned for the Prime Minister with members of the Jewish community.

After visits in Paris, Rome and Berlin, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will leave Thursday evening for a diplomatic visit to London where he will meet with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Their meeting will focus on the Iranian issue and the need to formulate a united international front against Iran in order to stop its nuclear program.

The two are also expected to discuss strengthening the strategic ties between Israel and the United Kingdom and increasing security and intelligence cooperation. They will also discuss international issues especially the war in Ukraine and developments in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Netanyahu is also expected to meet with Interior Minister Suella Braverman. They will discuss the two countries’ common challenges in dealing with global terrorism.

As the judicial reforms have dominated the headlines in Israel and the diaspora, there is a planned protest against Netanyahu’s visit in central London on Friday.

Senior Jewish community leaders said, “We made it clear that if we met with Netanyahu, we would publicly express our opposition to judicial reform.”

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) is also holding an anti-Netanyahu demonstration under the banner of “No to Apartheid! Netanyahu not welcome here”.

The PSC is an anti-Israel organisation with a history of antisemitism being rife at its protests as they demonstrate against anything and everything to do with Israel.
