The town hall of Grenoble said it had removed the tags on Wednesday
Two swastikas were drawn on a memorial to Auschwitz victims in Grenoble, France, a few days after similar inscriptions, police said.
The inscriptions were written “probably with a blowtorch” on a stone plaque on the Esplanade des Compagnons de la Libération.
The city’s services had already intervened a few days ago to clean up “the same plaque and the same type of tag”, according to police, who inspected the city’s war memorials on Wednesday without observing similar incidents.
The City Council said it had removed the tags on Wednesday.
