The National Bureau of Vigilance against Antisemitism (BNCVA) reported in a statement the murder of a Jewish man who was killed in August by a suspect of Muslim faith in the Paris region.
“The BNVCA has been requested by many correspondents who see circulating information on the murder of a man of the Jewish faith, Mr. L. H, 34 years old, originally from Djerba in Tunisia and whose family lives in Beer Sheva in Israel. The murder was committed by a suspect of Muslim faith. The concern is heightened by the silence that surrounds this case,” said the BNVCA statement.
According to the monitoring group, “the facts took place on August 20 in Longperrier, in Seine et Marne. The presumed author of the facts, which testify to a terrible relentlessness, has himself warned the police, has been arrested and placed in custody.”
The suspect reportedly said that the victim Eyal Haddad, who cohabited with him, owed him 100 euros and did not return them, and then he confessed that he killed him because he was Jewish.
“According to our information, the murderer smashed his victim’s skull with an axe and then burned his face and even started to bury the body. He gave himself up to the police. The BNVCA, which has taken a close interest in this case, asks that the facts be examined by considering the anti-Semitic character, and by not ruling it out a priori,” the statement continued.
An investigation has been opened.
