Manuel Pineda has lived in the Gaza strip for around three years where he has connections to the Popular front for the liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a group listed as terrorist by the EU, and Hamas. He is also a member of Samidoun, a PFLP affiliated organization.

He was banned from entering Israel in May 2022 because of his anti-Israel acrtivities.

A Spanish member of the European Parliament received last week an award from a Hezbollah-affiliated organization in Beirut.

Communist MEP Manuel Pineda was presented with an “Ambassador of Return” award by the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine (GCRP) by the organization’s  general coordinator, Sheikh Yusuf Abbas, who has ties with Hezbollah and has led a campaign of anti-Israel groups against the normalization between Israel and Arab states.

Pineda is a  member of the Unadikum Association which fights for Palestinian rights and supports violent resistance and the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.

He began his pro-Palestinian activity during the first Intifada in 1987, when he participated in related demonstrations.
