Shooting reported near the Israeli embassy in Stockholm

The Israeli Embassy in Stockholm has been sealed off after a shooting early Friday morning, The Times of Israel reported quoting local media reports.

Reuters said that Swedish police have detained several people and cordoned off the area.

“A police patrol at Strandvagen in Stockholm heard bangs and suspected there had been a shooting,” police said on their website, adding that the affected area lay between the capital’s Djurgarden Bridge, its Nobel Park and the Oscar Church.

Officers have reportedly cordoned off the embassy and the surrounding area for investigations. The motive for the incident is not immediately clear. There have been no reports of injuries.
