Ryanair apologizes after crew member announced landing in ‘Tel Aviv, Palestine’

“An innocent mistake with no political connotations,” according to the airline. 

Ryanair’s CEO has apologized for an incident in which the airline’s crew located the Israeli city of Tel Aviv in Palestine during a flight.  
The incident took place two weeks ago during a flight from Bologna to Tel Aviv. A crew member announced that the plane would soon be landing in Palestine. Several passengers protested and, on landing, the police had to intervene.
Eddie Wilson, CEO of Ryanair apologized for the incident, which he called ‘’an innocent mistake with no political connotations” on the part of the crew member.
He also wrote a letter to the Israeli ambassador to Ireland, stating that Israel is an “important partner” for Ryanair.
