The Greek centre-right government led by Kyriakos Mitsotakis has been supportive of Israel since the beginning of the war with Hamas.
‘’There can be no solution to the Middle East crisis without the strategic defeat of Hamas,’’ stated Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Speaking in Athens, he said that Greece is in a position to talk to all sides involved in the Mideast conflict except Hamas, which is a “terrorist organization that does not represent the Palestinian people.’’
“One cannot imagine a solution to the crisis without a strategic defeat of Hama. It is not too late to start discussing the future of Gaza and who will rule it, since Hamas is no longer in the picture,’’ Mitsotakis said during an event organised by The Economist.
“In my mind, the only solution can be reviving the two-state dialogue. That is, the right of the Palestinians to have their state, without threatening Israel’s right to have their own state”, he said.
