New York police search man who desecrated three synagogues in Brooklyn

New York police are searching for a man who desecrated four Brooklyn synagogues the day after Christmas, the New York Post reported.

Police released a photo of the suspect who went on the graffiti spree targeting  in the houses of worship Kahal Darkei Noam on Avenue J, Young Israel Senior Services of Midwood on Ocean Avenue, Khal Toras Chaim D’Flatbush on Avenue L and Knesses Bais Avigdor on Avenue J.

At the last location, the man reportedly broke into the synagogue, graffitied the inside, broke two cabinets and swiped $20, police said.

Cops said the graffiti at all the synagogues included derogatory phrases, but didn’t elaborate.

The incidents are under investigation by the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo released a statement saying:  “Let us remember, hate, in any of its forms, will not be tolerated in New York and we will always stand united against the cowards who seek to sow division and attack people for who they are or what they believe.’’
