More than 300 journalists from across the world to attend virtual 4th Jewish Media Summit

The Jewish Media Summit 2018 edition in Jerusalem.

More than 300 journalists writing for Jewish media all over the world will join on Tuesday the 4th Jewish Media Summit which this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held in a virtual digital platform.

The Jewish Media Summit is organized every two years, usually  in Jerusalem, by the Government Press Office (GPO)  together with the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs.

Journalists who are attending this unique conference cover Israel in all the various media arenas and convey their opinions through their writing.

This conference has already become a tradition and contributes greatly to strengthening the connection between Israel and the world Jewish media and, through it, strengthens the connection of the State of Israel with Diaspora Jewish communities.

This year the conference will be open for viewing to the general public.

The conference will feature Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Diaspora Minister Omer Yankelevich and Alternate Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benny Gantz, as well as senior figures from the Diaspora and the media. The program also foresees an interview of Rabbi Alie Abadie, Chief Rabbi of the United Arab Emirates.

Among the topics to be discussed at the conference are : Should world Jewry  have a say about internal developments in Israel ? Discussion vis-à-vis the Knesset bill for a model of consultation with the Jewish communities, Antisemitism in the shadow of COVID-19, Generation Z and the fight against antisemitism on social media.

The conference, to be moderated by Hila Korach, journalist and tv host, will be broadcast live on December 08 between 18:00 and 21:30 Israel time.
