Israel’s PM Netanyahu travels to London for a meeting with Boris Johnson and US Secretary of Defense Esper

 Netanyahu and Johnson will discuss the situation in the region and the way to rebuff Iran’s terrorism and aggression.

JERUSALEM—Israeli Prime Minister and Defense Minister Benjamin Netanyahu leaves Thursday for a snap visit to London where he will meet with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, his media adviser annnounced.

This will be Prime Minister Netanyahu’s first visit with the two after their entering into office as Prime Minister and Secretary of Defense, respectively, and also among the first meetings of the two with leaders from the region.

Netanyahu and Johnson will discuss the situation in the region and the way to rebuff Iran’s terrorism and aggression.

With US Secretary of Defense Esper, Prime Minister Netanyahu will discuss Israel’s security needs. The two spoke by telephone last night and decided to expand on their conversation in London.

Netanyahu’s meeting with Johnson comes as the British Prime Minister suffered two defeats in the House of Commons, the parliament, on the Brexit issued. British lawmakers passed a bill aimed at preventing a no-deal Brexit, in a first blow for Johnson and on Wednesday, in another setback , they rejected his proposal to hold a snap election on October 15.
