Israeli PM Netanyahu wants to change the ‘hypocritical and hostile’ attitude of the EU toward Israel

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is to meet Thursday with his Bulgarian counterpart Boiko Borisov.

JERUSALEM—Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he wants to change the ‘’hypocritical and hostile attitude of the European Union toward Israel,’’ as he left Thursday for a visit to Bugaria where is was due to meet with Bugarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov.

“This is a process that will take time, but I believe in setting a goal and striving for it systematically, and I believe that this too will be achieved over time. This is important for the State of Israel, whose status is rising in the world,” Netanyahu told reporters before leaving.

On Friday, the Prime Minister will be participating in the Craiova State Forum in Varna, in a working lunch meeting  with the leaders of Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece and Romania, respectively Bulgarian Prime Minister Borisov, Serbian President Alexander Vucic, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancilla.

Netanyahu hailed his “personal relationships” with the leaders of the four Balkan countries whom he referred to as “friends” and spoke positively of strengthening relations.

On  January 1, 2019, Romania will take over the rotating EU presidency from Austria.
