Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by telephone with US Vice President Kamala Harris, who commended the great success of the vaccines campaign in Israel, his office said in a statement.
‘’The Prime Minister and the Vice President agreed to establish a joint team to tighten cooperation in technological research and development in the fight against the coronavirus, water, green energy and in additional areas,’’ the statement added.
Vice President Harris expressed the American administration’s complete opposition to the decision of the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
On Wednesday, the ICC announced that it would begin its investigation into alleged war crimes committed by Israel and the Palestinians in the disputed territories since June 13, 2014.
The U.S. State Department has condemned the ICC decision and said the court lacks the jurisdiction to launch the probe.
Netanyahu said that ‘’intelligence and security cooperation would continue to be strengthened’’ and added that as Prime Minister of Israel he was totally committed to preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons designed to destroy Israel.
