“I don’t deliver to Jews,” Deliveroo men tell Jewish restaurants in Strasbourg

Two Jewish restaurants in the French city of Strasbourg and the Israelite Consistory of the Lower-Rhine region have filed a complaint against the refusal by at least two  Deliveroo delivery man to take charge of their orders for anti-Semitic reasons.

They were accompanied in their process by the National Bureau for Vigilance Against Antisemitism (BNVCA).

“Two complaints were lodged by two restaurateurs at the Strasbourg central police station, having been refused their delivery,’’ a police source told Agence France Presse. “The investigation is underway to identify the accused,” the Strasbourg prosecutor’s office said.

Lawyer Raphaël Nissand, who is acting on behalf of the two kosher restaurants owners,  also lodged a complaint against the company Deliveroo.

“The two restaurants prepared the orders and the delivery man asked, ‘what’s your speciality?’ The restaurateurs said, ‘these are Israeli specialities,’ and the delivery man answered, ‘oh no, I don’t deliver to Jews,’ and cancelled the delivery,” Nisand explained.
