Germany bans all activities of Hamas and Samidoun in the country

In previous years, the Al-Quds Day March has attracted a range of anti-Israel demonstrators including supporters of terror groups Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as neo-Nazis and supporters of conspiracy theories. Demonstrators call to conquer "al Quds" and destroy the Jewish state.

  1. The German government has banned all the activities of Hamas and of pro-Palestinian group Samidoun in the country.

Hamas is already designated terrorist organisation in Germany.  

“With Hamas, I have today completely banned the activities of a terrorist organisation whose aim is to destroy the state of Israel,” German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said in a statement.

Samidoun’s German wing will also be disbanded. Faeser said this international network works under the guise of a solidarity group for prisoners to spread anti-Israel and antisemitic propaganda.

The German government has banned the activities of Hamas – already designated as a terrorist organisation in the country.

Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said: “I have today completely banned the activities of a terrorist organisation whose aim is to destroy the state of Israel.”

It means it will be a criminal offence to have meetings in the name of Hamas or spread their propaganda.

Faeser also announced that the pro-Palestinian network, known as Samidoun, would be disbanded within Germany.

Last month Chancellor Olaf Scholz said its members had been celebrating Hamas “terror” in Israel on German streets.
