During meeting at Rome synagogue, EU Parliament head discusses efforts in fighting anti-Semitism

ROME—The president of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani discussed joint efforts in the fight against anti-Semitism of any kind in Europe during a ‘’positive and consructive dialogue’’ with the President of the Jewish Community of Rome, Ruth Dureghello, and Chief Rabbi, Riccardo Di Segni at the Rome Synagogue on Monday.

‘’I had the opportunity to confirm and renew the commitment of the European Parliament in support of inter-religious and cultural dialogue, in particular for the prevention of anti-Semitism of any, Tajani said.

The Jewish community in Rome is one of the oldest in Italy and in Europe.

‘’As President of the assembly elected by the European citizens I have guaranteed our highest vigilance against any form of hate and discrimination, as we stand in defence of the founding principles of the Union for freedom of religion and freedom of expression”, the head of the EU parliament at the end of his meeting..
