‘’Last night again, deadly terrorist attacks have occurred in Tel Aviv, one of them killing an Italian tourist. The EU expresses its total condemnation of these acts of violence. This must cease,’’ the EU said in a statement. 

‘’We also condemn the indiscriminate rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza and the territory of Lebanon. We condemn unreservedly the terrorist attack which killed two Israelis and left one seriously injured.”

 

‘’Last night again, deadly terrorist attacks have occurred in Tel Aviv, one of them killing an Italian tourist. The EU expresses its total condemnation of these acts of violence. This must cease,’’ the European Union said in a statement issued on Saturday.

The EU said it is ‘’deeply concerned by the grave escalation of violence in recent days in Israel, the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Lebanon.’’

‘’This upsurge in violence follows days of tension and clashes at the Holy Sites, including the intervention and the use of force by Israeli police inside the compound of the Al Aqsa mosque,’’ the statement added.

‘’The EU condemns the violent incidents which have happened in the Holy Sites and reminds that the status quo of all the Holy Sites must be preserved,’’ it said.

The statement continued : ‘’We also condemn the indiscriminate rocket attacks on Israel from Gaza and the territory of Lebanon. We condemn unreservedly the terrorist attack which killed two Israelis and left one seriously injured.’’

‘’Israel has the right to defend itself. At the same time, any response must be proportionate,’’ the EU said.

The EU called  for an immediate end to the ongoing violence. ‘’Everything must be done to prevent the conflict from spreading. We urge all parties to exercise maximum restraint, to avoid further escalation and promote calm for the ongoing religious holidays,’’ the statement concluded.

Allesandro Parini, a 35-year-old lawyer from Rome, who had arrived in Israel for holidays on Thursday, was killed in a car ramming terrorist attack on Friday night perpetrated by an Arab Israeli on Tel Aviv’s boardwalk, known as the ‘tayelet’, near the Charles Clore park.

Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni expressed her solidarity with Israel following what she called the “cowardly attack.’’

At least seven others were injured, including tourists. The attack took place on Tel Aviv’s board walk, known as the ‘tayelet’, near the Charles Clore park, not far from Jaffa.

“Deep sorrow and condolences for the death of one of our nationals, Alessandro Parini, in the terrorist attack that took place in the evening in Tel Aviv. Condolences to the victim’s family, to the wounded and solidarity with the State of Israel for the cowardly attack that hit him,” Meloni wrote on Twitter.

Meloni said her government is in contact with Israeli authorities about the wounded victims, some of whom are also Italian nationals.

Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror groups rejoiced at the Parini’s death. “A high-level operation,” they say.

Ichilov hospital in Tel Aviv said it had received three wounded Britons and one Italian.

The terrorist, an Arab Israeli from the village of Kfar Qassem,  was killed by a police officer who was in the vicinity of the incident.

In a separate incident also on Friday, two British-Israeli women were shot to death in the Jordan Valley and their mother left critically wounded.

The current round of violence commenced when Palestinian terrorists fired an unusually large rocket barrage at Israel from southern Lebanon on Thursday — some of the heaviest and most serious cross-border violence since Israel’s 2006 war with Lebanon’s Hezbollah militants — as well as from Gaza.
