Addressing the Labour Party conference in Liverpool, Miliband condemned the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, antisemitism and threats to Israel, while claiming they could not justify the “suffering” inflicted by the Jewish state in Gaza, Judea and Samaria.
“This suffering is a stain on the conscience of the world,” he said.
Miliband cited London’s new restrictions on trade from Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria as evidence of the policy shift, and said that the government had called out “ethnic cleansing by the settler terrorists in the West Bank.”
On Friday, UN Watch Executive Director Hillel Neuer criticized Miliband for meeting his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly annual debate in New York.
“Shame on you for lending legitimacy to a regime that just recently massacred tens of thousands of its own people for protesting,” Neuer wrote in Persian on X, addressing Miliband.
“This regime’s propaganda machine is now gleefully publishing your photo. Your behavior shows that in practice, you place no importance on human rights or international law.”
