Macron laid wreaths and observed moments of silence on Sunday outside the former premises of the weekly newspaper and the Hyper Cacher supermarket on Porte de Vincennes in the 20th district of Paris.
On Jan. 9, 2015, Amedy Coulibaly, an Islamist terrorist who pledged allegiance to Isis, killed a policewoman outside Paris and four people during a hostage-taking at the kosher supermarket.
Armed with a submachine gun, an assault rifle, and two Tokarev pistols, Coulibaly entered and attacked the people in the kosher food superette. The terrorist murdered four Jewish hostages, Yoav Hattab, Phillipe Braham, Yohan Cohen and François-Michel Saada, and held fifteen other hostages during a siege.
Police ended the siege by storming the store and killing Coulibaly.
A commemorative rally organized by the Jewish community will be held on Tuesday at the supermarket.
