ATHENS (AFP)---International blogging platform WordPress said Thursday it has suspended the website of Greek neo-Nazi party Golden Dawn, which won 6.9 percent of the vote in parliamentary elections on Sunday.

"This blog has been archived or suspended for a violation of our terms of service," said a message replacing the far-right party's home page, xryshaygh.wordpress.com

Greek public TV station Net said the party was protesting the suspension.

Golden Dawn's strong showing at the polls -- it claimed 21 parliamentary seats -- has drawn condemnation from Jewish leaders and moderates who warn it represents a re-emergence of fascism and Nazism.

The Jewish Council in Greece called it "a serious attack on Greek democracy".

WordPress bars "hate content" and material that threatens or incites violence in its user agreement.

Besides coming under attack for its racist, anti-Semitic platform, Golden Dawn has also been accused of carrying a death threat on its website against a journalist at liberal daily Kathimerini.
